Stephan Schug, Chief Medical Officer

Stephan H Schug, MD, MPH qualified as a physician with a focussing on public health. As a recognised European eHealth expert he promotes the quality gains and the transformation of healthcare enabled by eHealth and telemedicine.

He joined EHTEL (European Health Telematics Association) as a Manager in 1999 as an integral part of the management team. In addition to being the editor-in-chief of the association’s newsletter “The Navigator” he has co-authored and edited various documents and recommendations related to the promotion and implementation of eHealth services and telemedicine in Europe. Furthermore he has been part of the EHTEL involvement to recent EU projects on eHealth such as i2-Health and Healthware.

Dr. Schug lectures regularly at international conferences e.g. on eHealth interoperability, eHealth in the support of patient safety, ePrescribing etc. and serves international working-groups and expert forums as moderator or coordinator.
