[Event, 2008] Symposium "Enabling better care through sustainable satellite-based Telemedicine Solutions"
EHTEL is pleased to report on event in 2008 that has been particularly interesting for all health professionals. It was held in Cannes (FR) on 5th March 2008 under the title: "Enabling better care through sustainable satellite-based Telemedicine Solutions". The particular interest of this symposium was that it offered live demonstrations of telemedicine applications during which Health Professionals from France, Cyprus and Poland discuss by videoconference concrete patient conditions.
The European HEALTHWARE Project is coordinated by ThalesAleniaSpace; EHTEL is one partner (please follow this link for information on the EHTEL task force "Sustainable Telemedicine"). The project utilises the light and cost effective DVB-RCS satellite technology to support interactive services like collaborative staff meeting, teleexpertise, teleconsultation, training, as well as the exchange of high volumes of image data.
