International Congress on Telehealth and Telecare 2012
The International Congress on Telehealth and Telecare brings together researchers, policy-makers, practitioners and innovators interested in the design and application of technologies in health and social care. Now in its second year, The King’s Fund has again joined forces with the University Medical Center Utrecht to develop a programme that will showcase the very newest innovations and will highlight the latest learning, research results and business cases in telehealth and telecare.

Day one: Pre-congress seminar
"Evaluating telehealth and telecare projects"
Tuesday 6 March 2012: 1.00-5.30pm
A pre-congress seminar looking at the latest research and evaluation methodologies and considerations aimed at academics. In 2011 this was held as an evening masterclass. In 2012 we have extended this session to a half day seminar, allowing for more exploration and content.
Day one: Pre-congress workshop
Promoting engagement and partnerships for the Actions of the "European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing"
Tuesday 6 March 2012: 1.00-5.30pm
A pre-congress workshop, to promote stakeholder engagement and partnerships for wide deployment of telehealth, telecare and integrated care solutions. The workshop is organised by the European Commission and is related to the activities of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing.
Day two: Telehealth innovations day
Wednesday 7 March 2012: 10.00am-6.00pm
Telehealth innovations day with plenary sessions and breakouts focusing on the advances in and benefits of telehealth to long-term conditions such as chronic pulmonary disorder, diabetes, cancer and dermatological problems.
Congress dinner: Wednesday 7 March 2012: 7.30pm-11.00pm
Day three: Telecare innovations day
Thursday 8 March 2012: 9.30am-5.30pm
Featuring the latest results from the UK Whole System Demonstrator programme, telecare innovations day will include plenary sessions and breakouts focusing on the advances in and benefits of telecare systems to people with social care needs including older people, people with disabilities, and people with mental health support needs.
