How is health policy going to be shaped in the future?
In times of globalisation and an ageing society, it is time to concentrate
our efforts on shaping the future towards a healthy environment for
us and the generations to come. In this sense, it is essential to address
key issues such as health literacy and investment in a healthy workforce,
as these are the basic determinants for health in the future. Recent
discussions about rationing health care services and more cost-saving
measures also demand an answer to the question whether an equitable
distribution of health services will still be guaranteed. Decisions we
make today, will enable us to be prepared, tackle these future challenges
and to ensure the common good.
