EHMA 2013 Annual Conference "What healthcare can we afford? Better, quicker, lower cost health services

Hosted by Bocconi University, the 2013 EHMA Annual Conference "What healthcare can we afford? Better, quicker, lower cost health services" is to take place at the Bocconi University, Milano, Italy, 26-28 June 2013: Across Europe at the beginning of the decade growth in health expenditures largely came to a stop after decades of increasing health budgets. Policy measures in many countries have – or will in the near future – reduce public spending on health costs, with countries already hit by recession taking the lead (OECD 2012). Considering this new financial reality, can funders, policy makers, health leaders and managers keep improving health services so as to assure that services are accessible and of high quality? If we cannot depend on economic growth, how far can innovations meet current and future health challenges? Or is it necessary to accept that the levels of health care provision that have been available can no longer be sustained and therefore we must debate and decide the types and levels of health care that can be publicly provided?

3rd Annual International Congress on Telehealth and Telecare

Now in its third year, the purpose of the International Congress on Telehealth and Telecare is to bring together researchers, policy makers, practitioners and innovators interested in the design and application of technologies to share experiences and to showcase new ideas, new research and new innovations in telehealth and telecare that will support improvements in care of people with long-term conditions and other health social care needs.
